How do you pronounce finasteride?
Finasteride is pronounced roughly fin-AS-teh-ride, with the stress on the second syllable. Minoxidil is min-OX-i-dil. Neither is obvious from the spelling, which is why the question gets asked as often as it does.
It matters more than it seems. Being able to say a medicine name is part of being able to raise it with a pharmacist, describe it at an appointment, or confirm you have been given the right thing at a counter. People avoid asking about things they cannot pronounce.
